Normally, I'd recommend System 6.0.1 with the HFS FST
so that you can read and write Mac disks on the IIGS.
For those users with just 1MB, I'd recommend System
5.0.4 with the HFS FST from System 6.0.1 to read and
write Mac disks. But you informed me that your IIGS
has even less memory.

http://www.crl.com/~joko Shareware Solutions II sells
freeware/shareware disks for a reasonable service charge.
Go ahead and browse their catalog and place an order.
I think it is a couple of dollars per disk. You'd be hard
pressed to do better with a csa2 reader.

FYI, the Apple IIGS has AppleTalk built in. If you
had enough memory to run GS/OS, you can actually
log onto the Mac from the IIGS Finder and use the
Mac's hard drive directly. Run programs off the Macs
hard drive and other stuff. Speed is slow, equivalent
to a floppy drive, but better than nothing. You'd get
storage and save the transfer step.

The null modem cable is a printer cable, by the way.
If you have a IWII, just unplug that printer cable from
your printer and plug it into the Mac's modem port.
Plug the other end into the IIGS modem port.

Printer cable is the same as modem cable plus a
null modem adapter.
