Apple IIGS and Macintosh printer ports are
serial ports, not parallel.  Maybe that's the
problem.  Without a parallel card or a parallel
converter, the only currently made HP ink
jet printers directly connectable serially to
the IIGS or Mac are the DeskWriters.

By directly connectable, I mean without
added hardware such as a parallel card
(I'm only stating this for the record and do
not want to start another holy war with
parallel card users.  ;-)
