Well, I know I've answered this question twice. :-) I e-mailed
replies but you used cabletron.com in your e-mail address, not
ctron.com so they have apparently gone to bit heaven. I never
received any failed delivery messages either.

Sorry about that.

Here is the last e-mail reply I tried to send to you:

I'm not sure if this is covered in a FAQ anywhere but
the files that are posted to comp.binaries.apple2 can't
be posted in a binary format. They must be encoded from
an 8 bit binary format to a 7 bit ASCII format. For the
Apple II, the standard encoding method is called
BINscii. There are other encoding methods. UUencode,
Base64 and BinHex being the most prevalent for Unix,
Windows and Mac systems.

What you need to do with these files is save the ASCII
text of the message and get it onto a disk on your Apple
II. Then you use a program on the Apple II to decode
the file from text back into its binary form. This
usually results in a ShrinkIt file for stuff posted to
cba2.

Programs that you can use to decode a BINscii file are
BINSCII and BSCIT for the 8 bit Apple IIs and StolenBase
NDA, GScii+ NDA or use the BinHQX XCMD in Spectrum
(choose decode from the black apple menu) for the IIgs.
Spectrum is the only program that you have to pay for
out of this bunch. The rest should be available on FTP
sites if you don't already have them.

I hope this helps.
