AppleWorks printout problem

I am having problems printing to any parallel printer from AppleWorks (both 1.2
and 2.0) using a Grappler+ parallel printer interface. Using the Apple
Dot-Matrix driver, AppleWorks prints in a row less than an inch wide. If I
select Epson as a printer type, it prints in small type that doesn't even reach
halfway across the page (as well as control codes). What are the DIP-switch
settings for the Grappler+ card (what do they do)? What about the Apple
Dot-Matrix Printer's DIP-switch settings (the manual's no help whatsoever)? On
the Grappler+ card, all 4 DIP-switches are in the OFF position, and with the
Apple Dot-Matrix Printer, only DIP-switches 1-7 and 2-3 are in the ON position.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
