Yes, I used it as a TV for a time before it died completely.
I still think there is something different between Australian
NTSC signals and the ones in North America. Maybe
your international equipment produces a slightly off-NTSC
signal.
I seem to remember reading about an Apple IIe user who
tried to connect his NTSC IIe in Europe to an international
VCR (a VCR designed for use in Europe but to be cross
compatible with NTSC). The result was a picture that
lacked color.
