I got one of those back a few weeks ago. They're internal CD600 clones. 
So don't expect $19 to get you a usable CD. They'll want an extra $30 for
an enclosure.

As far as "needing" a single speed, Apple's single speeders, CD SC, CD SC
Plus, and CD150, are totally plug 'n play with the system software. CD300s
and up and non Apples will take extra software to play audio but work ok
for data.

I have a CD150 connected to a HS SCSI and it's quite satisfactory. Both are
long out of production now so it might take some digging to turn 'em up.
