I can give you an example. One of your customers opened a topic with my name,
misspelled, as the subject, and invited people to make comments about me.
Several of the comments were very unkind, including some made by your staff.
This went on and on for about a month before I even found out about it (I
wasn't there, I do not read your board). Your readers complained about it. I
complained about it. People said it was the most un-Delphi-like thing they had
ever seen. No amount of being in the "public eye" deserved that. Finally,
after all this went on and on for more than a month, at my request and at the
request of your readers, the topic and the remarks were deleted.
And you wonder why I won't help you with "Lost Classics?" To be honest, Tony, I
don't know what your precious Lost Classics are. None of the programmers I talk
to have ever mentioned it. If you think that the concerns about version numbers
have something to do with you, then I suggest you contact your people and work
on it yourselves.
Ruby, I don't mind if they try to make me look bad. It's nothing new and
everybody I care about considers the source. I have a mailbox full of nasty
e-mail from them (much worse than anything Tony posted), which I show to anyone
who asks to see it. I've also been willing to let this go and move forward
anyway, but if they want it all out on the web, then that is what we'll do.
Tony (et.al.) we would be happy to have you on csa2 if you would use your time
here to share information and help others. Instead every week there is some
big complaint-fest from you people, accompanied by promos for your own board. I
decided last week that because of Quantum Cat, I would stop visiting this board
altogether after this week. So good luck, and whatever you do, I won't be
involved any further here anyway.
