OK, so set up a 1.5MB partition, install the code as above, then weed
out anything which is less useful.

For starters, you could set up two different images: one for ROM 1,
which excludes *:System:System.Setup:TS3, and the other, for ROM 3,
which excludes TS2. (If this is only for your own machine, then you can
just drop the appropriate file.)

I'd suggest dropping the EasyAccess and CloseView INITs, if they have
been installed (they are for an Easy Install, but I'm not sure about
custom system installs).

Depending on your requirements and available hardware, you could drop
any of the Pascal, DOS 3.3 and MS-DOS FSTs. Similarly, if you don't
have a UniDisk 3.5, then you could eliminate this driver.

The printer driver is the only other major component which occurs to me:
make sure you have at least one installed, and if you actually have a
printer then it should match your one.

There are several potential problems with having a read-only system
disk. The main ones that come to mind are:

- Printer selection might not "stick".
- The clipboard file cannot be written to disk, so you might not be able
to cut and paste between applications.
- Fonts are stuck with whatever was on your master disk, unless you use
Pointless to get fonts from elsewhere.

As far as I'm aware (I could be wrong), Easy Install identifies the
target disk size (and possibly the disk type), and adjusts its set of
files accordingly.

For example, if you are installing to a hard drive (using an Apple SCSI
card) then it has to include the SCSI Manager and hard disk driver, but
these might not be installed onto an 800K floppy.
