Thanks for the info on baud on serial ports. The stuff on modems sounded
quite familiar, while the difference between async and sync serial ports
was new and quite interesting. :-)
While Jeff is probably correct in commenting that it is safer just to use
BPS while talking about transmission speeds (and, thankfully, fewer people
discuss modem speeds in baud nowdays), there is nothing wrong with talking
about baud if you have the facts straight.
And that is about all of the gory details that I can handle for one night.
