Heh, I remember when 10mb was...like, decadent for an LC...
I can't figure out why everyone always goes for that 2.2.2d version, it's
buggy as hell...Is it referenced in a FAQ or something, or do people just
always head for the newest version? Last I checked Apple's site they went
out of their way to point out that one shouldn't download the d version
unless you fit the specific need of it, and it is unsupported and mostly
untested...

Yeah, I hate that too. I liked the old HD with the II logo over it much better.

Well, if you use something like SilverLining or HDT (if HDT still supports
PD partitions) you probably won't have that problem, just make the rest
'Free Space'...however for me, the extra little 8mb partition was useful
because I copied over the Launcher app and it's files and such, and I
think there were instances where I wanted to mess with something like a
disk image or such, so I placed it on the HFS partition to monkey with it
with greater ease...
