Only SST can convert .NIB's back into floppies. The PC program you mention
which converts .DSK's to .NIB's was designed for one of the oldest DOS
emulators - Applemu - which uses Nibble images rather than standard .DSK
images. Unlike modern emulators, which often support multiple image formats,
Applemu only read .NIB's. Modern emulators generally only use .NIB's for
software which uses non-standard tracks or bad bits (ie. copy protection).
Any standard .DSK, however, can be converted to .NIB whether it uses non-
standard tracks or not. Whilst this means Applemu can also use copy-protected
.NIB images made with SST, these same copy-protected .NIB images (which often
use non-standard tracks or bad bits) cannot be converted to .DSK format
without losing the copy protection feature .NIB's support. So SST is the only
way to go here.
