QuickDraw refers to the page description langauge in the
IIGS and Mac tooboxes. It requires the computer to render
the page and send the bitmap to the printer. ECP for the
Canon BubbleJet (in Epson emulation mode) and the Epson
Stylus are similar except that the driver rather than the
toolbox uses the language to render the bitmap. Same
thing with PCL for DeskJets, DeskWriters and LaserWriters.

Postscript is different. In postscript, the instructions to
generate the bitmap rather than the bitmap itself is sent
over to the printer. This is much faster. Imagine what
would be faster, sending an HTML source page or sending
the graphic rendering of the HTML source page?

The only QuickDraw printer driver for the IIGS to my
knowledge is the two available for the StyleWriter.
