Hi. I'm a programmer who's had to sift through resumes and do interviews
off and on for about 4 years, now. So far, I've seen exactly one resume
that justified a length over 2 pages. The guy was way too expensive, but
he seemed really interesting, so one of my coworkers called him up anyway.
(And he was interesting, too.)
Short lists of positions and skills used are good. Paragraphs are bad.
Most resumes aren't that interesting, and I really don't care about most
of the projects that people've worked on. Just tell me what you did, and
what you can do.
(On the other hand, Dr. R. Smalley's CV lists Rice Homecoming Queen. He
can get away with it, since it also lists the Nobel Prize in
