I was offered $100/hr for Java development, but it was for full-time
on-site development in Manhattan and they wanted me to wear a suit.
Blah. (The amount of money that would have to be spent getting around
that infernal island would make the "real income" orders of magnitude
less.)
In my previous post, I failed to point out that if money IS your
primary motivator, you can get lots of contract work at good rates.
The problem is that I find a lot of this work neither challenging nor
rewarding. (Which is fine, because a lot of what I find interesting
and worthwhile bores other folks...)
(Why is this going to comp.sys.apple2? Oh well, while I'm hitting
that group, I'll say hi to everyone still reading.)
