Hmm.

I'll come clean and admit that I've been some of that "cheaper talent from
abroad" a couple of times in the last year.

Actually, I wasn't aware that I was cheaper -- I asked for a lot to make
up for travel expenses, living in a hotel, and being away from my family
for a couple of months, and they paid it.

If US$85/hour for programming Java is "cheap" then please tell me where
you work and I'll go there next time!

It sure looked like a programmer shortage in the US to me!
