I would hardly call Turley a CSA2 veteran, I don't think he gained
access until around 1994. As someone who has been reading the group
and its predecessor (comp.sys.apple) since it was first available at
Monash University in 1989 I don't think I qualify as a veteran
either. I have largely been lurking for some years. However, I would
like to say that the degeneration of the newsgroup and beginning of
long flame fests seems, to me, to have started with the presence of
Turley on the group. I would also like to say that, before the advent
of Turley, Nathan Mates used to give useful and courteous advice. I
can't agree with his eventual methods, but do remember it as a gradual
change after a sequence of disagreements with Turley and his cohorts.
