If all you want is black & white, sure, it'll work great.

I had lots of serial cable problems with my PC & Apple stuff, but once
I got a serial cable from Intrec (it's meant for a modem), my troubles
all went away.

I use a Macintosh modem cable, a PC modem cable, a gender changer, and
a null-modem adapter, all connected together.
