First I've heard of such an effect, and it would be rather neat trick,
considering that the FPI/CYA chip doesn't even enable the memory
expansion slot if you are accessing motherboard RAM.
Older cards in a ROM 3 might cause "memory holes", which can confuse the
Memory Manager (thinking it has more RAM than it actually does, and
causing crashes).
