HELP: Blueprints for a Computer

Hello.  I would like to build a primitive computer as a hobby.
Somewhere along the
technology lines of an Apple I or II, IBM AT, VIC-20, etc..  I would
like to build it from the
ground up (soldering IC chips and what not).  After I get it working,
I hope to write a command
interpreter (BASIC-like) for it with grammars.   Does anyone know of
what kind of resources
(physical or digital) I could use as a set of blueprints, or kits, or
reference.  ANYTHING.  I
am in the dark about this but very excited.  I would appreciate any and
all suggestions.
