Teach text translator?

I have the idea that this exists:

a Mac program or init or something that allows the Mac to read TEACH files
from the GS. I also have the idea this was something by EGO systems.

I don't know where I got this idea, or how off base it is. Can anyone
confirm or deny it? I was hoping to find this for school, as some students
seem unable to get the "save as" concept that would allow them to
transport their files easily from our GS classroom to other school Macs.
