Speech recognition problem

English speech recognition doesn't run! No matter what I try, I still get an
error
saying something like: 'Speech recognition could not start because of an
unexpected error. Reinstalling or restarting may solve the problem.' ...but
it
doesn't. Anyone knows?

I've got a brand new 300Mhz 'blue/white' G3 / 192mb, with an Apple mic.
