I assume you mean a real IIGS laptop, not a Mac under
Bernie emulation. I was unaware that Tony Diaz
added a hardware password feature to the IIGS laptop.
I suspect it is actually a software password.
On the IIGS, passwords are often the product of desk
accessories, control panels, or inits. Luckily, these can
usually be bypassed with a shift-boot.
However, I've seen one really great one that actually
sits between Finder and GS/OS. While GS/OS loads,
instead of reaching the Finder, it is intercepted by the
password program which only launches Finder if the
password is correct.
You can always access your files by booting from
floppy.
