Moving files from a IIe to Mac or PC

My dad and I are dusting off the ol' Apple II's and are thinking about the
best way to get some valuable AppleWorks files to a Mac (or PC if worse
comes to worse). We've got 5.25 Apple II disk drives.

Possible leads (please comment):
Get a 5.25 external drive for Mac. Does such a thing exist?

Get a 3.5 external drive for the IIe. Any leads?

Use a PC 5.25 drive to read it. Is there any way to get the PC to read one
of those disks?

Use a networking oriented (modem, comm ports, etc.) solution. Any hints?

We've got a questionable IIc with both 5.25 and 3.5 drives. Can I use a 3.5
disk created on a IIc on a Mac?

Any ideas/experiences much appreciated. Thanks for your time.
