http://www.allelec.com/ Alltech Electronics makes the Focus
hardcard.  The controller of this hardcard is an IDE interface
that supports up to 2GB mechanisms.  You can replace the
hard disk mech that comes with the card with your own, larger
ones.  If you want to use 3.5" IDE drives, you need to find an
adapter cable.

only SCSI card available new, the RamFAST, a caching
SCSI controller.

If you go with SCSI, make sure the card is either a RamFAST
or an Apple High Speed SCSI card.  The Apple High Speed
SCSI card is only available used, but it is the most compatible.
The RamFAST is the fastest.

Warning: there are two designs of Apple cards floating around.
One is the Apple High Speed SCSI card, the one you want.
The other is the Rev C. (or earlier) design, which should be
avoided.  It works, but if you want to access a removable drive
like a Zip drive under ProDOS 8 applications, it has problems.
Under GS/OS, the Rev C card works respectably, but is
slower.
