     Yes; the .sdk files on Apple.Cabi.net can be unshrinked using
either
8-bit ShrinkIt (v3.4) or GS-ShrinkIt. The ones available from Apple must
be
processed through a Mac.

Not so. A //GS would do just fine in 8bit mode with shrinkit.
