SuperDrive with IIgs: Disk ID problem

I still need to pick up an external disk drive to use the iMac at home to
download files from the web, but I picked up the SuperDrive that I'll need to
transfer the disk to the IIgs.

Problem is, when I formatted a 1.4 Meg floppy at school to test the drive and
took it home, the IIgs running gs/os 6.0.1 wanted to reformat it or eject it. 
Now, the IIe had no problem reading the disk, so I figure that it must be the
OS.

Solution?
