I hate to burst your bubble, but Chuck has no more control over it than
John Townsend does.

Bredon released it into the public domain.  "Public Domain" not
"freeware".  That means NO ONE has control over it anymore.  Not even
Chuck.

One must remember, though, the "public domain" status DOES allow you to
charge money for derivative works.  But to make an outright claim that
anyone still has ownership of it like that doesn't make any sense.  You
own your updated version(s) and can do what you want with them (even
charge money for them).  But no one owns the original anymore, and
anyone else could update it however they wanted with or without your or
Chuck's consent, and charge or not charge as they so desired.
