ProDOS-8 2.0.x requires a 65C02 or later processor (IIgs, IIc or
enhanced IIe, or a ZIP chip in an unenhanced IIe or ][+).

ProDOS-8 1.9 and earlier will work on a 64K Apple ][+, but not on an
Apple ][, unless its firmware has been upgraded to Applesoft with
Autostart ROM (on the motherboard, not on a ROM card).

Note that the ][+ (or ][) must have a language card in slot 0, and a ][
must have the full complement of 48K RAM on the motherboard.

The improved "quit" program selector in ProDOS-8 1.9 requires a IIe with
an 80-column card, so you will be limited to the old "type in the prefix
and pathname" quit code on a ][+.  You can avoid this by using a
third-party program selector which replaces the quit code with something
more usable.
