I think you mean "for all intents and purposes" but I get the idea.

I said if because I seem to recall something from Apple saying '040s don't
support it. It might stem from how the last few '040 models such as AVs and
500 series Powerbooks don't allow 32 bit addressing to be turned off. A 
search of the TIL doesn't turn up many articles about the card though. One
dated 5/31/94 lists the compatible models and none that I recognize are
'040s. It does mention future models with the LC style slot but no such 
machine came out after the date of the article to my knowledge.

It might help to double check. It'd also help if someone who has first hand
experience with the card and an '040 box would speak up.
