Instead of getting a new mechanism for your broken drive, I
recommend getting a new hard drive and controller.
http://www.allelec.com/ Alltech Electronics sells the Focus hard
drive for $59. This is a hard disk drive that is mounted to a
controller card which goes into one of the slots in your IIe (slot
7 for example). The latest OS and lots of freewares and sharewares
are preinstalled.
After that, you just flip a switch on the IIe and the whole system
turns on. No more bulky external case. No more waiting for the
Sider to spin up before turning on the IIe.
