Dear Peter,

What I assume is that you have a Sider 20 and that the drive itself died.
What you have to do now is  to get an old MSDOS 286 or 386 from a flea
market wich has a
SEAGATE ST 225 in it . To be sure you should look into the SIDER first.
Chance is 90% that it
uses exactly this drive. You have to replace it with the hopefully good one
from the flea market and
prepare (format, partition) it with the First Class Peripherals utilities.
If you don,t find the ST 225 in your
sider let me know which drive is inside. There are some NEC 3 1/2 inch
drives which are cylinder/head/sector
compatible with the ST 225  I think you have to look for a NEC D3126 or 3124
(don,t remember exactly)
