Martin, one last thought: are you using a modem cable rather than
a printer cable? They both look the same (Mac/IIGS serial port to
DB25) but they are not. The printer cable is equivalent to a modem
cable with a null modem adapter. This crosses one set of wires.
If you try to connect a printer with a modem cable, it simply will
not work and may actually damage the hardware.
