Transporting 5.25" drives

Howdy kids!

When transporting 5.25" drives over long distances (i.e. shipping one via US
post), should a disk be inserted into them to prevent damage to the R/W heads
from rough handling?

My Apple 3.5" drive came with a little yellow plastic "pseudo-disk" to protect
its mechanism.  Does the same apply to 5.25" drives?
