You might like to try using the software Kanji and the other Japanese
translation software and character font sets for same, that Dr. Suzuki gave me
to release for the IIgs - years and years ago.
I've made them available on my website and on most all of the Apple II ftp
sites also  The new additions, versions, updates and accessories of other
programs for use with it (and there are many to cover writing full Japanese
characters with the IIgs), had the documentation translated into English for me
to release with the program updates by a friend named Alex Eddy from Santa
Cruz, CA.  He did a flawless job with the documentation translation.  All of
the IIgs Japanese translation character font sets and writing software programs
collection can be found on Ground in the 1WSW folder.  Text files with full
descriptions of all of them are also included in the 1WSW folder on Ground.

I would think it might be possible to use it all in some fashion with IIgs
hypermedia programs like HyperStudio and HyperCard also.  Although, I'm not
sure if anybody has tried that yet.
