Even since the old Apple II+,e power supplies I've messed with, the main
things that seem to screw up in the power supplies are the electrolytic
capicitors... probably due to close tollerance/money saving... Right now
looking in a dead AE supply that I haven't changed the capacitors in most are
rated 16wv... I think in some of the old Apple PSs some were rated as low as
10wv. In general I just buy a bunch of capacitors (at a real electronics
parts store, not radio shack) that are rated 25wv or higher, as long as they
still will fit of course. That has almost always cured my dead supplies.
