Re: HELP! Patched PRO.FST?

 Dalloff chanted almost zenlike:

DC| Until my system croaked on me a few months ago, I had patched
   | versions of BASIC.SYSTEM, P8, and PRO.FST to allow me to use
   | less-restrictive filenames. Very handy for backing up my palmtop,
   | which uses some MS-DOS filenames which are illegal under ProDOS

Thank our good buddy Tom Larson for that. :)

DC| Well, I dug out the patcher program (NAMEFIX) and ran it. Then I
   | rebooted the system, and the machine crashed.

Haven't seen that filename around in awhile, and here's why:

DC| So...Any suggestions? Anybody know where I might find a
   | different filename-restriction patcher for the Pro.FST?

NAMEFIX was replaced by QuickFix (QFIX), which should be available on
the FTPs, or you can get it from me directly. I'm using QFIX-patched
GS System and have never had a problem. (And yeah, plenty of files in
my download directory *need* that to be recognised, heh...)
