I always thought of putting a IIgs mother board into IICX/CI (or even a IIVX w/
CD) box.

FWIW.... someone in a Mac vs. Windows board on AOL posted a URL a while back
that showed someone stuffing a PowerMac 9500 motherboard into a IIe case.  It
was a real slick setup.  I wished I had saved it.
