Limits of ADB...?

Hardware question here...

I got this brilliant idea that I could run some cable downstairs and
operate my IIgs from the living room, using the TV set there as a monitor,
or hooking up a second monitor.

The question is...How far can I go with an ADB cable?  Can I successfully
use an S-Video cable as an ADB extension?  Has anyone tried going, say,
50' with a GS keyboard and mouse?  I'm thinking that a pair of video
cables and a long keyboard cable would do the trick...  (pair of video
cables 'cause the whole idea is to pipe the signal through my VOC...)

Any thoughts?  Yeah, I guess I could set up my other IIgs, but then I'd
have to get it a hard drive, memory, modem, etc. etc. etc.  And I figure
eventually, once I get my Macincrash, I can use the same equipment to let
be browse the Web from the living room...
