BRRRR.  I'm kinda chilly too.  You should get your GS a nice jacket.....

Things that will lock up your GS:

Bad connections to interface cards.  Take the cards out, look at the
connectors.  Are they dirty?  Use a pencil eraser to clean them off.  The
problem may be fixed by just removing and re-inserting your cards.

Push every chip inside of your computer down into the socket.  You should
hear them make noises if they are not seated correctly.  Make sure you do
this to the chips on your interface cards too.

ADD A FAN!  One of the best things you can do for your GS!  There is a
connection on the motherboard for a Fan.  You need air flow (open some of the
holes in the back of the case)

I put some cardboard barriers to direct the airflow past heat sensitive
cards.  For PRODOS to recognize SCSI partitions, they need to be mapped to a
slot.  I don't know how this works with the Apple SCSI card.

The RAMFast card causes lots of lockups in my system.  I sent it back to
Sequential for a replacement.  It is a good card  (mine was defective), but
their technical support sucks.

Check your System extensions.  Drivers, NDAs, Finder Extras, Initialization
files.  These are a source of lockups.  You need to figure out which files
are friendly, and which aren't

The following will cause problems:  Minimizer CDEV, Minimizer INIT, lots of
others but I can't remember which.
