Here are the facts: the IIGS itself may be worth what,
$25 on the average?  Maybe more maybe less depending
on where you find it.  The standard 3.5" and 5.25" drives
are available cheap.  Rarer hardware like the SuperDrive
controller and upgraded accelerators are worth quite a bit
more.  So called "off the shelf hardware" is part of the IIGS
setup if it is hooked up to the IIGS setup.

More facts: IIGS setups with SVGA monitors and laser
printers and gigabyte or more SCSI hard drives do exist.
However rare you think these setups are, they exist.

Final fact: due to the above facts, IIGS setups worth
$300+ do exist.  You were wrong.  My pointing out
this last fact does not mean I think the IIGS bare
bones unit is worth $300+ (see fact one where I
estimate the CPU to be worth).  However, that fact does
not change this one.
