Thanks for all replies. I resoldered the mouse socket on the keyboard, straightened out a bent pin on the mouse plug, and now keyboard and mouse both work perfectly. A very flimsy arrangement, I'll never unplug it now that it's working. Seems like poor design from Apple. Now the next step is a cable to connect the GS to PC, so I can download/transfer more modern software. mike
