     That may be-- I do not know about connecting a mouse and joystick
to the same port.

     As to whether or not connecting a mouse to an A2 Game port will
work, my guess is that it probably depends upon firmware and/or
software. So, a mouse plugged into a IIe Game port might be recognized
by some software even though it is not a "standard" IIe mouse
connection.

     Even so, your main point seems to be: "Hey, guys, you need a Mouse
Card if you expect a mouse to work like it's supposed to on a IIe."
