When you swapped the keyboard with a known good one, did you operate it
with the case open?  That is the classic symptom of a stuck key...(Dave
grabs his //c)...Pay especialy close attention to the "`" key as that is
right next to the case.

If it isn't a mechanical problem with the keyboard installation, then
perhaps you're looking at a short in the keyboard cable, connector, or
related motherboard circuit.  When you swapped the keyboard, did you also
swap the keyboard cable?
