Well let's say we replace the Apple IIgs that is floating
among all those peripherals and replace it with an 8088 PC/XT.
Most of those things you bundled with the IIgs will function
on an 8088 (I've even seen a 17" monitor connected, using an
old ISA SVGA video card).
Now, would it then be fair to say 8088 PC's can be worth
something in the $300-$1,000 range? Once again you would be
paying for the peripherals and basically getting the machine
for free.

When you have both cards running in the 12 to 15 MHz range,
is the "slow down" factor that much more noticable? If I can
one day repair my TWGS, I'd like to get it running at similar
speeds to my ZipGS so I can compare.

Well if 1.5+ ROM chips are so common, let me know if you find
anyone willing to donate a copy to me. ;-)
