Depends on which ][ owners you ask. I don't like using anything without an
Apple logo on it myself. As far as the price goes, it's your basic supply
and demand thing. Those cards are scarce while old Mac boxes are almost
literally a dime a dozen.

Yep a fellow can find a IIsi box for $40 give or take nowadays. I have a
superdrive card and drive but since I use file sharing to transfer stuff, they
don't get much of a workout.
