     Not a bad approach. However; we have piles of computer boards (from
dumpster diving) which have connectors with the correct spacing. I just
slice and trim to 50 contacts and stick onto a coper-clad board (or
prototyping board). Genuine A2 boards usually keep their connectors--
they get repaired and/or modified. (Actually, in terms of time and
bother, your idea of just slicing and pasting on a clean p-board may
make better sense.)
