That is arguable. ProDOS will _work_ on a IIgs (as long as you use
version 1.2 or later), and is required if you want to run 8-bit
software.
However, if you get System 6.0.1 then you have the best of both worlds,
because you can run native IIgs software as well as 8-bit software,
because System 6.0.1 includes the latest version of ProDOS (and
BASIC.SYSTEM), and will use it automatically if you launch an 8-bit
program.

One of them is ftp.info.apple.com, and the other is ftp.apple.com (which
has it only in the form of Apple II ShrinkIt disk archives).
I can't get on to either site at the moment, but assuming the NZ mirror
has exactly the same directory structure, the URL to the relevant
directory is (probably word wrapped):
<ftp://ftp.info.apple.com/public/Apple_Software_Updates/Apple.II/Apple_I
IGS_System_6.0.1>
The various files are called:
Disk1_of_7-Install.sea.hqx
through
Disk_7_of_7_-_A%c9II_Setp.sea.hqx
(I think the %c9 is an ellipsis character "...").
Downloading all seven disk images will give you the full set, but if you
just want to get started, then download disk 2:
Disk2_of_7-System_Disk.sea.h
This is a bootable system disk.
Disks 1, 3 and 4 are required for installing system software onto your
own disk (e.g. a hard drive), disks 5 and 6 are optional extras used by
the installer, and disk 7 is only needed if you have an AppleShare 3.0
server running on a Mac and want to boot the IIgs over an AppleTalk
network.
