One word of warning...

I had a bad RAM chip in my //c.  Since I didn't have the self-test to
diagnose the problem, I just replaced all of them...and to avoid having to
de-solder all those chips again, I installed low-profile sockets.  As some
of you may be aware, you cannot do that with a //c.  One of the slots is
directly below the disk drive shield and will short out when the case is
put back together if a socket is installed.  Whoops!

I fixed mine with a bit of electrical tape (I worked hard to put in that
socket; I didn't want to give it up...!).
