The problem here is, that you need to find a provider that gives you
direct UNIX access. Most providers give this, after you have made a PPP
connection. I do have such a provider, but since this is the University
of Nijmegen, no other people can use its service. A friend of mine has
been searching for a unix-provider, and so have I. Not in the period of
already 3 years we have found one (!).

What I understood from Ewan Wennop (the author of Spectrum), it will
soon be possible to connect to internet using Marinetti, and continue
from there using Spectrum to do the unix browsing.

When you have unix access, you can use programs like PINE and NCFTP for
reading e-mail, resp. doing ftp. Ewan and Richard can provide more
information on this topic I presume.
