Re: Apple IIGS newbie
You folks amaze me. Don't you have anything better to do than take
pot shots at each other?
This thread (seemed) to start with a newbie asking a simple question,
and has since descended(sp) into a schoolyard squabble.
Most of the commentary seems to have been over piracy of one sort or
another. Who cares? We're dealing with 10+ year old systems here.
If someone actually expects to make a profit selling software to the
Apple ][ community, they're living a in a dream world.
If I'm going to spend money on software to do a specific job, I'm sure
as hell not going buy that software for an EOL'd machine. There are a
few exceptions to this [Hi Steven!] simply because I have a special
project going and while I could get what I need freely, I want the support.
I can understand some of the software authors here not wanting to see
their hard work stolen. The problem is that you're writing to a platform
that _invented_ software piracy. What the hell did you expect? Now that
the hardware is old, people are going to start buying Apple ][ software?
It's 1998 folks, grow up and smell the aging scent of silicon.
